The Cranberry Creek Word Search Mystery Series (My New Cozy Comfort Read)

Hi Besties, Okay, I need to talk about this series because it has quickly become one of my favorite cozy, low-effort reads and activities lately. If you saw my post about word search mystery books, this is the series that fully pulled me in. The Cranberry Creek Word Search Mystery series by Rosie A. Point, Charles Timmerman, is exactly what I didn’t know I needed: a small-town cozy mystery and a puzzle book in one. It’s relaxing, a little interactive, and honestly just really fun to read when you don’t want anything too heavy. If you’re curious about the series or thinking about starting it, here’s everything you need to know.

What Makes This Series Different

At its core, this is a classic cozy mystery setup:

  • small-town setting
  • amateur sleuth main character
  • charming side characters
  • local businesses and community drama

But what makes it stand out is the format. Each book includes word search puzzles which is a fun thing to do, all woven into the story, so you’re not just reading-you’re interacting with the mystery as you go. It never feels complicated or like “work.” It just adds a layer of engagement that makes the experience feel more immersive.

The Vibe of Cranberry Creek

Cranberry Creek is one of those fictional towns that immediately feels cozy. It has:

  • a Main Street with local shops
  • familiar neighbors and small-town dynamics
  • a slightly dramatic but still comforting atmosphere

It’s the kind of place where something always seems to be happening-but in a way that still feels light and readable. And because each book builds on the same setting, it starts to feel familiar in the best way.

The Books in Order

Here’s the series so far, in order.

Murder Among the Stacks- Book 1- Solve the Puzzles―and the Plot of a Cozy Bookstore Mystery! (A Cranberry Creek Word Search Mystery)

Murder Among the Stacks (Book 1)

This is where everything begins. Abby Jones moves to Cranberry Creek for a fresh start, opening her dream bookstore and settling into small-town life. But during her grand opening event, a famous author is murdered-right in her store. What I love about this first book is how quickly it sets the tone. You get: the cozy bookstore setting, the introduction to Cranberry Creek, the first mystery that pulls Abby into sleuthing. And of course, this is where the word search puzzle format is introduced, which immediately makes the reading experience feel different. It’s a really easy, engaging starting point.

Murder by Muffin (Book 2)

By the second book, the town starts to feel more familiar-which makes everything even cozier. Abby’s bookstore is doing well, and she’s starting to build real friendships in Cranberry Creek. One of those connections is with the local bakery owner… who quickly becomes the center of the next mystery. When a restaurant critic is poisoned after eating one of the bakery’s famous muffins, Abby steps in to figure out what actually happened. This book leans even more into the small-town relationships and cozy atmosphere, which I loved. It feels like settling into the series.

Murder Before “I Do” (Book 3)

This one brings in a wedding storyline, which automatically raises the cozy stakes. Abby is the maid of honor for her friend, and everything is supposed to be focused on celebration-until the best man is murdered during the rehearsal dinner. To make things even more chaotic, the wedding rings go missing. This book adds a bit more tension while still keeping that light, cozy tone. By this point, the format feels completely natural, and the series really finds its rhythm.
