Mary Shelley

Mary Shelley is one of my favorite authors to revisit because Frankenstein is only the beginning of the story. This is where I’m collecting my Mary Shelley reading guides, literary history, Frankenstein deep dives, and essays about the haunted summer of 1816, her life, her gothic influence, and why we’re still talking about her work more than 200 years later. If you want to go beyond the green Halloween monster and actually meet the writer behind him, start here.
