Initially, when I discovered the Gibbs Smith Wilderness Series, I thought they’d be a great gift for my husband. He loves nature, he encouraged my love of nature and he takes every chance he can get to encourage our family to spend time in the great outdoors. The plan was to buy the first three books for him as a gift, but as I flipped through the pages, I knew this was going to be a collection I’d invest in. I found myself captivated by the vivid imagery and evocative prose that each author brought to their respective books in the series. They each brought each landscape to life and shared commentary on us the people who share this space.
