Tilly’s Bookshop Coloring Book: Meet The Cozy Friends
Meet Tilly’s Bookshop coloring book, the first Cozy Friends release from Thyme Lane, with 50 hand-drawn scenes, lovable animal friends, and bookshop charm.

Welcome to Tilly’s Bookshop, the Coziest Corner of Thyme Lane
Hi Bookish Besties, I need you to know that I am now emotionally attached to a fictional turtle who owns a bookshop. This is apparently where Thyme Lane has taken me. Tilly’s Bookshop: A Cute Coloring Book for Adults and Teens is officially here, and it is the very first coloring book in our new Cozy Friends Coloring series. This one feels different from anything we’ve created before because we’re not simply making a collection of coloring pages around a theme. We’re building an entire little world, starting with Tilly the Turtle, The Quiet Shelf bookshop, and 50 hand-drawn scenes from her slow, bookish life on Thyme Lane. So if cozy bookshops, lovable animal friends, reading nooks, tea, baked treats, and coloring your way through a gentle little village sound like your kind of thing, you can get Tilly’s Bookshop on Amazon here.
Meet Tilly’s Bookshop
Tilly’s Bookshop includes 50 cozy hand-drawn scenes, single-sided pages, a mix of simple and more detailed designs, and an entire cast of Thyme Lane friends to meet along the way. It’s made for adults, teens, book lovers, cozy-coloring people, and anyone who could use a screen-free hour somewhere that feels a little softer than real life. And if you want to know who you’re about to spend that hour with, let me introduce you properly.
Tilly has a bookshop. Pax has a bakery. Maple delivers the mail. Fern tends the garden. Puddle runs the tea house. Clover has a journal tucked under one paw and is probably already investigating something she noticed three pages ago. They know one another. They visit. They bring things. They sit down for tea. They recommend books. They move through the same little village and show up in one another’s lives. And at the center of this first book is Tilly the Turtle, who runs The Quiet Shelf, the bookshop on Thyme Lane. Tilly moves slowly, pays attention, always seems to have the right book recommendation, and firmly believes the best things do not need to be rushed. Which, now that I think about it, is probably exactly why I needed to make her.

Meet Tilly the Turtle, Bookseller of Thyme Lane
Tilly’s whole personality is built around mindfulness, but not in a complicated, turn-your-life-into-a-wellness-project sort of way. She simply takes her time. She notices people. She listens. She enjoys her tea while it is still warm. She doesn’t seem particularly interested in racing through one part of the day just to get to another. And of course she runs a bookshop, because books ask us to do many of the same things. Tilly is a soft little turtle with her signature scarf, a subtle heart pattern in her shell, and usually either a book or a mug of chamomile tea nearby. One of my favorite things about her is the way she offers books to her friends with both hands, as though she’s handing them something genuinely important. If you’ve ever recommended a book you loved to someone and then waited slightly too eagerly for them to read it, I think you understand Tilly already.
Spend a Slow Day at The Quiet Shelf
The book follows Tilly through everyday life inside The Quiet Shelf, from opening the shop and unpacking new arrivals to arranging displays, reading in the window nook, welcoming friends, and eventually closing the doors as evening settles over Thyme Lane. Nothing enormous needs to happen, and that’s part of what I wanted. A box of new books can be exciting. Someone bringing fresh flowers can change the whole counter. A friend stopping in with muffins can be enough to make an afternoon feel special. I love the idea of creating a coloring book where the ordinary moments are the story.
The friends who stop by help make The Quiet Shelf feel like a real neighborhood bookshop, but I’m deliberately not telling you everything about them yet. You’ll meet Pax, Clover, Maple, Fern, Puddle, and a handful of smaller Thyme Lane characters as you color, and there is plenty more to discover about them later. This is Tilly’s book, and their turns are coming.
What’s Inside Tilly’s Bookshop
There are 50 hand-drawn scenes to color, with a mix of simpler pages and illustrations that give you a little more detail to settle into. That is another difference between this series and our Bold & Easy books. I still want the pages to feel relaxing and approachable, but the Cozy Friends world has more little environmental details because I want you to feel like you’re stepping inside a real place.
You’ll find bookshelves, reading nooks, packages arriving, tea being poured, friends visiting, little objects around the shop, and plenty of small bookish details to discover as you color. The illustrations are single-sided, and the book works well with colored pencils, gel pens, and fine-tip markers. If you’re using markers that tend to bleed, I’d still put a spare sheet behind the page just to be safe.
Most importantly, there is no official color palette for Thyme Lane. If you think The Quiet Shelf should have pink walls, congratulations, Tilly now owns a pink bookshop. I support your creative direction.

Why I Wanted Cozy Friends to Become a World
This is probably what excites me most about this new series. With our other Thyme Lane coloring books, we were building around themes. With Cozy Friends, we’re building around people and places. I want you to eventually recognize Tilly before you read her name. I want The Quiet Shelf to feel familiar when it appears again. I want another character to walk through the door and for you to think, Oh, I know them.
The village can grow slowly, book by book. Where characters can visit one another. Their shops and routines can overlap. A tiny background detail in one book might become much more important somewhere else. And I think that is when Thyme Lane starts feeling less like a collection of books and more like somewhere we can return to. I’m trying very hard not to tell you everything immediately, which is difficult for me because apparently I already know far too much about the lives of these fictional animals. You’ll meet them when it’s their turn, but right now, Tilly gets the keys first.

Another Reason to Put the Phone Down for a While
There is still one idea underneath almost everything we’re creating with Thyme Lane: I want to make things that give us a good reason to spend a little less of our free time scrolling. Not because I’m declaring war on phones. My entire working life would become very complicated very quickly. I just know how easy it is to sit down for “a few minutes,” look up much later, and realize I’ve consumed a tremendous amount of content while remembering almost none of it. Coloring feels different. You choose a page and a color. You move your hand. You notice the little things in the illustration. Maybe you listen to an audiobook or put on music. Maybe you can make something warm to drink. Nothing impressive has to come from it. You were simply there for half an hour, and that feels very Thyme Lane to me, and extremely Tilly.
Who Tilly’s Bookshop Is For
I made this for people who love bookshops, cozy animal characters, gentle little villages, coloring, and stories where ordinary life gets to be interesting. It’s designed for adults and teens, but I think the real requirement is simply being delighted by the idea of a turtle owning a bookshop. It’s also an easy gift for a reader or someone who enjoys screen-free hobbies. Add a few colored pencils, markers, or gel pens and you’ve got a simple cozy gift without needing to know exactly which novel is already sitting on their TBR. Although I also firmly support buying it for yourself. We do not need to wait for another person to give us permission to own cute turtle-related merchandise.

Final Thoughts
What I love most about Tilly’s Bookshop is that this feels like the moment Thyme Lane starts becoming a place. There is a turtle named Tilly who opens her bookshop in the morning. Friends wander in. Someone brings something warm from the bakery. Flowers appear on the counter. Books get unpacked and recommended and carried home. Eventually, evening arrives, the shop gets quiet, and Tilly closes the door. Nothing enormous happened, and that’s exactly why I like it.
So much of what I want Thyme Lane to celebrate is hiding inside those ordinary moments: things made by hand, books passed between friends, small kindnesses, familiar places, and the pleasure of not rushing through every part of the day. Tilly understands that, and this is only our first afternoon with her.
