Jane Austen Gifts for Game Lovers

Lizzy Loves Darcy: A Jane Austen Matchmaking Game by Thomas W. Cushing
This Pride-and-Prejudice-themed board game is such a fun, clever gift-players spin, answer Austen trivia, and try to reach the “perfect match” space before scandal pulls them back. Throughout the game, you’re also rising on social ladders or sliding down ropes of drama, which feels wonderfully on-brand for Austen’s world. I chose this gift because it’s perfect for fans who love group games, trivia, and anything that lets them revisit Lizzy and Darcy’s story with a playful twist. It made me laugh, compete a little too seriously, and feel like I was stepping into a Regency parlor.

Jane Austen Trivia: 400 Questions for Every Austenite
This deck is a must-have for fans who know their Bennet sisters, their Dashwoods, and which Austen novel inspired Clueless. With 400 questions-half easy, half challenging-it’s great for trivia nights or casual play. I included it because it’s perfect for readers who love testing their Austen knowledge, hosting book club parties, or revisiting favorite adaptations. It left me feeling equal parts smug and humbled (those hard questions are hard).
Jane Austen Gifts for Puzzle Lovers

The World of Jane Austen: A Conversation Puzzle (500-Piece Logic + Jigsaw Puzzle)
This puzzle blends Austen’s characters and storylines into a unique logic-based jigsaw: you assemble visual scenes first, then read each vignette’s dialogue to determine how they link together. It’s clever, immersive, and perfect for someone who wants a puzzle that isn’t just pretty-it also tells a story. I selected it because it’s ideal for readers who like narrative puzzles, cozy winter afternoons, and anything that deepens their connection to Austen’s characters. Solving it made me feel delightfully absorbed in her world.

Pride and Puzzlement: A Jane Austen Puzzle, 1000 Pieces
With Jacqui Oakley’s gorgeous artwork featuring characters from Pride and Prejudice, Emma, Sense and Sensibility, and more, this puzzle is a visual feast. Sturdy pieces, beautiful colors, and illustrations full of charm make it worthy of framing once completed. I included it because it’s a perfect gift for collectors, puzzle lovers, and anyone who wants to spend hours inside Austen’s universe. It left me with that calm, satisfying “I finished something beautiful” feeling.
Unique & Beautiful Jane Austen Gifts

A Jane Austen Tarot Deck, 53 Hand-Drawn Cards Inspired by Austen’s World
This deck combines tarot symbolism with Austen’s characters-Mr. Wickham as The Devil, a teapot for Strength, Austen herself as The Magician-and it’s as whimsical as it is beautiful. Oversized cards, foil details, and a keepsake box make it a stunning gift. I chose it because it feels special, artistic, and perfect for readers who enjoy tarot, symbolism, or simply want a collectible that celebrates Austen’s world. It made me smile and want to pull a card just to see the artwork.
Jane Austen Book Gifts (Special Editions)

Pride and Prejudice, Puffin in Bloom Deluxe Edition
This edition is a showstopper: Rifle Paper Co. cover art, gold foil, sprayed edges, full-color endpapers, and a ribbon bookmark. The novel follows Elizabeth Bennet as she navigates family pressures, social expectations, and her slow, enlightening shift from misjudgment to understanding-and yes, Darcy is as irresistible as ever. I chose this gift because it’s perfect for collectors, new Austen readers, and longtime fans. Holding it felt like holding a keepsake.

Persuasion, Harper Muse Painted Edition
This deluxe edition of Persuasion highlights Anne Elliot’s tender, heartbreaking, beautifully written journey as she reunites with Captain Wentworth after breaking off their engagement eight years earlier. The painted cover, gold foiling, and decorative pages make it an heirloom-quality gift. I selected this because Persuasion is Austen’s most quietly emotional novel-ideal for readers who love second-chance romance, elegance, and thoughtful storytelling. It left me feeling full of longing and hope.
Jane Austen Gifts for Deep Readers & Scholars

Jane Austen’s Bookshelf by Rebecca Romney
This nonfiction book explores the women writers who influenced Austen-voices who shaped her but were later pushed out of the canon. Romney traces their lives, struggles, feminist ideas, and the ways Austen absorbed and transformed their themes. I chose this because it’s perfect for readers who want context, literary history, and deeper understanding of Austen’s craft. It made me rethink the lineage of women’s writing and feel grateful for the brilliance that came before Austen.

Jane Austen’s Fashion Bible by Ros Ballaster
This book blends Regency fashion history with scenes from Austen’s letters and novels, paired with stunning illustrations from La Belle Assemblée. It explores walking dresses, riding habits, seaside attire, and ball gowns-plus the social meaning behind each style. I included it because it’s perfect for fans of period dramas, costume lovers, historians, or anyone who delights in visual storytelling. It made me appreciate how fashion shaped Austen’s world and characters.

How to Choose the Perfect Jane Austen Gift
Here’s how I think about picking the right Jane Austen gift for someone:
- For the social reader: Board games + trivia
- For the quiet puzzler: Jigsaw or logic puzzles
- For the collector: Deluxe book editions
- For the academic or historian: Jane Austen’s Bookshelf or Jane Austen’s Fashion Bible
- For someone who loves aesthetics: The tarot deck or illustrated editions
- For someone new to Austen: A beautiful edition of Pride and Prejudice or Persuasion
And honestly? If you’re shopping for yourself, choose whichever one sparks that “oh, I’d love that” feeling. That instinct is always right.
Final Thoughts: Which Jane Austen Gift Will You Choose?
Whether you’re shopping for a friend, a book club buddy, or yourself (which I highly encourage), Jane Austen gifts are timeless, charming, and always appreciated. Her world continues to inspire joy, comfort, and connection-and these gifts help readers carry a little piece of that magic with them.
Tell me in the comments: Which Jane Austen gift are you adding to your wishlist-or gifting to someone you love? I’d love to know what your inner Austen heroine (or hero) is gravitating toward.

You have all these modern games BUT NONE FROM JANE’S ERA!!! Example; in “Emma” the “letter squares” game is pivotal for the effect “DIXNO” has on the game players. Clears the room! Why is this game not presented here? In fact WHY ARE NO 1800’s ERA GAMES PRESENTED ON YOUR SUPPOSEDLY JANE AUSTIN SITE???
Thank you so much for your comment — I really appreciate you bringing this up. For this gift guide, I focused on modern items that people might want to give to the Austen fans in their lives, rather than objects from her era. This isn’t a Jane Austen–only site, so the guide leans more toward easy, giftable ideas.
I’m actually working with a professor who specializes in eighteenth-century literature and is an expert on Jane Austen, and we have some more historically accurate pieces coming soon (one goes live in two days). I love your suggestion about including Regency-era games — especially the letter-squares moment in Emma — so I’ll be sure to ask her for additional games outside of the ones we know from her books and put together a “games they played in Austen’s time” post. Thank you again for the thoughtful nudge.
Forgive me for misspelling “Austen”.
